June 2002 Cluster Weekend - Nova GSICS, Fort Lauderdale

1. Met with Dr. Sun and Dr. Mukherjee in their offices today. Reviewed the Dissertation Update dated 6/10/02 with both and obtained their signatures on the Committee Formation forms.

2. Met with Dr. Littman in her office. Reviewed the Dissertation Update dated 6/10/02 and obtained her signatures on the approval forms for the Idea Paper, Preliminary Proposal, and Committee Formation.

3. Met with Ebony Farrington in GSCIS administration and turned over all the signed forms and a marked up copy of the Preliminary Proposal per Dr. Littman's direction.

4. Received marked up copy of Preliminary Proposal from Ebony. Dr. Littman's note on the paper indicated that changes were to be incorporated in the Formal Proposal.

5. Stayed at he Westin Fort Lauderdale for two days. However, the room was overpriced and full of ants, so we moved to the Courtyard - Plantation.

Dissertation Update - Ron Wolak (6/10/02)

1. Previous Meeting - Met with Dr. Littman on Sunday, 3/3/02 to review progress on the Preliminary Dissertation Proposal. Items discussed at that meeting included:
a. Dissertation Update dated 3/2/2002
b. Printout of www.aamathome.com
c. Dr. Littman reviewed the GSCIS requirement for 50 annotated bibliographies (20 for the Preliminary and 50 for the Formal).
d. Dr. Littman suggested that Dr. Sun and Dr. Sumitra be contacted to become members of my Dissertation committee, and that I should schedule a meeting with each of them in June.
e. Dr. Littman also suggested that a copy of the AAM approval letter be included in the Appendix of Preliminary Proposal and that a Table of Contents be added to the paper.

2. Conferences Attended
a. Gartner Wireless Access, Mobile Business Solutions Conference in Chicago. March 11–13, 2002.
b. Sprint PCS User Conference in Las Vegas, April 28 - May 1, 2002.

4. Dissertation Progress
a. Submitted Preliminary Proposal 5/18/02 by express mail to Dr. Littman and received her approval on 5/30/02.
b. Obtained signatures from Dr. Mukherjee and Dr. Sun on Committee Formation forms.
c. Submitted IRB Approval forms to ESET on 5/24/02.

6. Future Meetings with Dissertation Chairperson - The following meetings are scheduled with Dr. Littman in Fort Lauderdale. They occur on the Monday of scheduled Cluster weekends:
September 16th, 2002 – Monday, 2 pm
December 9th, 2002 – Monday, 2 pm
March 10th, 2003 – Monday, 2 pm
