September 4, 2000
It is only a few days until the Fall 2000 Cluster begins. Ron and I will be taking the Information Policy and the Multimedia Research - Project courses. We can’t believe the summer went so quickly. The days are getting shorter, and winter is just around the corner. In fact, the new Meijer’s store down the street had Christmas decorations out already. Amazing!

Also, we just came back from a 7-night Celebrity Century Eastern Caribbean cruise. The itinerary was the following: San Juan, St. Thomas, St. Martin, and Nassau. If you want a vacation where you float in a 4/5 star resort hotel and have all the food you can eat, this is one of the best deals for your money. From our experience, the places to get the best price on a cruise are www.lastcallcruises.com and www.buycruises.com. What distinguishes these sites from your typical travel agent is that they constantly check (no matter if you booked 1 year in advance) to see if the cruise you booked is having a special sale or free upgrades. They will actually lower your cost if the cruise price has gone down.

Another great site for information on any cruise line or general cruise information is www.cruisecritic.com. This is an excellent information site. Oh, by the way, if you are in the market for jewelry (and I mean nice stuff), St. Thomas is definitely the place. Just be sure you know what you want and always ask for at least 30% lower than the price quoted to you. A engaged couple at our table received an excellent deal on their wedding rings. Well, see you all soon.

The new year has arrived and Chaelynne and I are shoveling all the snow that accumulated in the driveway while we were in Maui over the holidays (yearly family reunion). We finished up Information Policy - Assignment D while we were enjoying the sun and are finally getting close to finishing the course. Click here for a picture of us studying in Maui. We used to think that the E-commerce course had the longest assignments - not anymore! We still have the final exam in IP and the final project in Multimedia to finish up, and then we can relax for a month.

Next term will be our last for classes. We will be taking Database and System Development. Then it is on to the Dissertation. By the way, we still do not have a clue as to what we will be writing about. Not even the slightest idea. So, if you are in the same boat, then relax because we are all in it together. Maybe we should do an online support group where we can email the group periodically to keep focused on the dissertation process. They say it works for exercising, it may work for the dissertation.  Well, that's about all. Drop us an e-mail sometime especially if you have helpful hints for the dissertation process or maybe a couple of dissertation ideas we could use.
