Tax Tips - If you are lucky enough to receive tuition reimbursement from your employer, you already know the importance of having your supervisor initial next to each course submitted to verify that the payment is tax-exempt. However, even if your company does not pay your SCIS expenses, it is a good idea to have your supervisor initial and write "job related" next to each course on your SCIS registration form. This will allow you to write off educational related expenses such as tuition, books, travel, lodging, car rentals, Internet access fees, telephone fees related to Internet access, office supplies, computer equipment, office furniture, etc. - any expense related to your successful completion of a job related SCIS course.
